Poor design will lead to disaster
If you go to The Telegraph website here you will find some examples of just how awful badly designed websites can be. With a market that is becoming more and more crowded it becomes imperative that your web pages reflect either yourself or your company in the way you want them to. Your website is your calling card. Mess it up and you can forget any success coming your way.
Good web designers can be found as long as you know where to look - sometimes just typing in web designers'on Google can yield good results. The trick is to tell the difference between a good designer and a bad one. How do you do this? Well to start with when you click onto a designer’s home page it should immediately fill you with confidence. The layout should be easy to read, all the links should work, and examples of the designer’s previous work should be available to view as well. If you however you click onto a page where none of the links work, the layout is a mess and you feel like the colour scheme may burn your retinas out of your eye sockets, then you can be fairly sure that you’ve landed on a designer who has no idea what they are doing.
Designers work on the move a lot these days, so don’t be surprised if there is no office address listed for them on their website. Many work abroad and have good roaming rates set on their mobiles so that they can and will communicate with you by phone when necessary. They tend to work off their laptops, tablets and mobiles more and more these days.
As long as you look carefully, you can find great designers. Just make sure you check their work out thoroughly first.
