How To Get More Value From Your Email List

In today’s world of marketing we have moved away from the old Banner Stands to using techniques like email marketing to get our pitch across. An email list is a great marketing tool and is very important to success on the Internet.

Getting people to sign-up for your e-mail list is no doubt a great first step. They have allowed you to communicate with them. Now the onus is upon you to show responsibility by not annoying your list members while at the same time using the list to your advantage.

No Sales Pitch - You can use the e-mailing list to promote your own product offers. It cannot be hard-sell. Beware of a salesman tone. People know where the unsubscribe link is. Even though your primary motive will be to push an offer, you have to be very careful to not sound like you’re pushing them. Complex? It’s not. Just remember, people buy from people. They don’t buy from well-crafted sales-pitches. Next point illustrates this more.

Be An Expert - Try to present only the most valuable information to them. They must feel privileged to be part of your mailing. They must anticipate and feel excited about your mails. It’s about building trust. This is your unique opportunity to present yourself as a thought-leader in your niche. Once they come to believe what you have to say, they will buy anything and everything you suggest. That’s it- it has to come as a gentle suggestion not a sales push to close.

Always have call-to actions in your list so that you know the conversion rates and dynamics of the list. Use video, audio, PDF, downloadable material to liven things a bit.
